Cork is a natural product. It is produced from the bark of trees that grow in the south of Europe, and northern Africa. This tree bark is harvested every nine years, after that it starts growing again. Cork flooring is made from this material. While there are other natural floor covering materials few have all the characteristics that are so perfect for a baby. A marble floor is natural but there is no need for me to tell you why it would not be suitable in a baby’s room.

Children and even newborn babies are more and more likely to be affected by allergies. Cork has the amazing ability to produce no dust and to repel dust. It is also very easy to clean, requiring only a damp mop to keep it in top shape.

Cork is a great sound muffler. Any noise even the lightest foot steps can be too much for a sleeping baby. Having cork on the floor will let parents get as close, to their sleeping baby, as they want, without disrupting his/her sleep.

A Cork floor is always warm to the touch, even in winter. It a material that absorbs the ambient temperature and holds it. That is one of the reasons why it is so pleasant to walk barefoot on a cork floor; you can double that when you walk on all 4.

Finally cork is simply beautiful. It has natural patterns, which with a little coloration can give a baby’s room a little special touch and an individual appearance reserved for your child.
