Pantry Cabinets

If you have a small kitchen and limited places to store your canned and dry goods then you may want to do some upgrading. The new high tech pantry cabinets allow for more food and kitchen gadget storage, and help with organization too. Most homes today usually just a have a small closet with four or five shelves to store food. If you have a large family and buy in bulk this is not the optimal situation for your food storage needs. There are several pre-fabricated pantry cabinets that have built upgrades to optimize the space inside and give you up fifty percent more storage.

The new internal designs of these high tech cabinets makes use of all available space by using the doors for storage with shelves and installing rotating shelves in the center for even more storage. One caveat to having this additional space is that sometime food can go bad if not used in a timely manner. So, it’s a good idea to make sure that you place them in air tight containers and put the date on the container for when it was originally stored.

Homeowners with larger kitchens can chose the option of buying an armoire pantry that is essentially a stand-alone pantry cabinet with the same functionality and storage. Purchasing one of these units will usually double your food storage capacity. There is another unique external piece of kitchen furniture called a breakfast pantry armoire that contains storage for a microwave, toaster oven and coffee pot. Some even have a wet bar sink and even a drawer style refrigerator. This is a perfect addition to add to your family or game room for entertaining.

The best time to introduce this newer technology of pantry cabinets is when building your home. You can have the cabinetmakers integrate this storage technology in other cabinets as well to provide even more room for pots, pans and other kitchen gadgets. This technology is based on the old Lazy Susan design that rotates in place but giving more options.

If you do not have the additional space in your kitchen for these products, you could also add them to your garage if space is available and use it for unopened food products and long term bulk food storage. Keep in mind since they will be in a less than delicate environment with your cars and bicycles, you may want to go with plastic or metal cabinetry due to more exposure to the elements.
