Outdoor Kitchen Designs and Ideas
If you haven’t noticed, there is a trend in outdoor patio spaces lately to build more designer-created and inspired ideas. What this ends up looking like is a commercial or gourmet kitchen set up in your own backyard. Forget about a simple patio arrangement with patio furniture and accessories. These newer outdoor kitchen designs have full commercial kitchen amenities. Think in terms of six-burner stove tops, stainless ovens and refrigerators, wine coolers, large sinks, and little mini blenders to make yourself delicious smoothies and cocktails!
What can make an outdoor kitchen even more exciting or helpful for entertaining is a pizza oven. We are talking about one of those brick pizza ovens that burns real wood. Some manufacturers have kits that can just be installed in what ever application they are called for. They aren’t cheap, but if you are overhauling your patio space and want to make it spectacular, then it is a great place to splurge. Your whole new outdoor kitchen will surely be enhanced with the addition of one of these. However, since they are a bit pricey, if you think you would get more use out of the other kitchen amenities, save your dough – pun intended – and splurge on some sort of sliding draw refrigerator or dishwasher. After all, who wants to be bothered doing dishes in their patio kitchen?
Even though outdoor kitchen designs do take into consideration seating, if it is anything like your indoor kitchen, you find that people just end up standing around hanging out. This is what makes a patio kitchen so perfect. It combines the natural tendency to want to lounge with the ‘kitchen hangout’ phenomenon. So you can put those retro kitchen chairs away!. But, if you want your guests to be more comfortable, look into the various outdoor bar furniture items. These can make your patio more comfortable for seating while still allowing it to have that casual standing cocktail table environment to it.
