How to Keep Your Chandelier Looking New
Perhaps a while ago you got yourself a nice chandelier to act as a lovely focal point in your lounge room. But over time, you may have noticed that it dulls slightly as there is a build up of dust and grime. You really need to stay on top of this to keep your chandelier lighting looking new.
Keeping it clean isn’t too hard, and if you are disciplined about it and prepared to put in a bit of time on a regular basis, you will keep your prized lighting feature looking great.
You should make sure that you give your chandelier light a good clean at least twice a year. By this I mean that you should take the time to use a damp cloth to go over the light thoroughly. You should turn the electricity off to the light at this point to keep yourself safe, and don’t use a cloth that is too wet.
When you have given it a proper clean you can use a glass polishing solution to bring some sparkle back to those glass dangles. Just spray some of the solution on to a cloth and then polish the outer crystals up to a nice shine.
While you are up on a ladder tending to your chandelier it may well be worth checking all the bulbs are working. Make sure that you replace any that are blow, and it is worth giving the contacts on the bulb sockets a clean with a dry cloth to prevent rust (certainly make sure that the electricity is off when you do this).
If you follow these quick maintenance tips you will have a chandelier shade that looks great all the time and lasts for a long time. The key is to stay on top of a regular cleaning schedule and not let the build up of dust get so bad that it is hard to clean.
