How to Find Quality Carpet Remnants

Quality is very obvious in carpets so you don’t want to go too cheap. Not only will a cheap carpet wear badly and start producing bare patches quite quickly but it will also not give you the comfort underfoot which is one of the primary purposes of having carpet in the first place. Because cheap carpet also tends to look cheap, most of us know to buy quality carpet if we can.

If the price of quality carpets is too high for your budget, think about using carpet remnants.

The carpet left over at the end of a roll is often sold at a cheap price by carpet outlets and this gives you a means of getting a quality carpet at low cost. The best place to find these remnants is at your local store. Although you might find some carpet remnants online they are not very common and in some ways, it is much better to be able to feel the quality of the carpet you are buying and to be able to arrange delivery and installation with the local store owner.

Also, some stores may help out if they know you are looking for a particular color and let you know when they have a remnant which may be suitable if you give them your details. Of course, it is not something that they advertise (because they would prefer you to pay full price for your Berber, Stainmaster or frieze carpeting) but some stores do try to be helpful if you ask especially if they know you have a limited budget.

One way to approach find quality remnants is to work out what kind of carpet you would buy if money was no object. Find the ideal carpeting and then pick out a number of carpets which meet your criteria. Then you know exactly what you are looking for in the remnant section of the store. Don’t choose anything just because it is reduced. Something which does not meet your needs is not a good deal!
