How many times has it happened that a friend or relative asks what you might like as a gift, and you stare into space unable to answer. Not because you have no needs, but rather because you simply cannot think of what it is you might need right then on the spur of the moment. All the great things just dash out of your mind.

Here are some ideas for the next time you are stuck for an answer:

Shag rea rugs- These are practical for decor (because they can be changed out), but also very helpful if you have kids or pets with muddy feet traipsing in and out of the door.

Accent rugs- These come in solid chenille colors, prints, or in woven textures. Everybody needs these.  if you find that your carpet is bunching up and starting to trip people, these are handy to go over that spot.

Entry doormats- These add a touch of distinction to a boring entryway. You can also use them for color accents.

Tablecloth- Remember how doggy the tablecloth looked at the last holiday. This would be a good present to request. A plaid for Easter? A floral pattern for Spring? Dark brown to hide the gravy stains?

Body fat scale- These monitor not only body fat but also body water. They can be set individually in many cases, so that each person’s specs are in the scale.

Outdoor furniture- If your gift-giver is a big spender, hey, ask for wrought iron. If not, a nice gift would be a telescoping chair for the beach.

Aromatherapy for hectic lives- Ahhh… now we are talking. How about a scented candle? Reed diffusers with vanilla aroma? Hawaiian island scent? Chocolate frosting candle? Luscious!

Luggage pieces- Oh gosh, remember the tear in the bag you just recently bought? Now might be the time to ask for a new suitcase.
