Choosing the Right Rug
Whether you need to get some rugs because you have hardwood floors and want to make a certain area of the room a bit softer for you or your kids to sit on or you just want to protect your floors from being scratched, choosing the right rug is important. There are a couple of things that you will want to consider when getting a rug. Since there are so many different choices, let’s break down what are the most important things to look for.
The first thing you will want to look at is the type of material that the rug is made of. There dozens of different types of materials to choose from and each will have its advantages and disadvantages. For example, if you are going to be putting the rug where there is a high amount of foot traffic, then you might want to get a wool rug. Wool is also good to use around a fireplace as well since it’s fire resistant. If you want something a bit more ragged, then you may want to consider getting a shag rug.
Another thing to consider is color. The color you choose will largely depend on the color scheme of your home. Black rugs and other darker colored rugs are good to help create a bit more structure and border while lighter colored rugs will have a better blending effect. The last thing to consider is the size. Make sure you measure out what you need before buying. You don’t want to end up buying a rug that is way too small or way too big. A quick measurement with a measuring tape will do. You can find black area rugs or any other type of rugs online or in stores. The cost will depend on what you buy as well as the size.
