If you are a person living in the United States, more than likely, you have some sort of collection.  While the nature of people’s collections are wide ranging (from Beanie Babies to shot glasses to crystal figurines to commemorative plates), the sad reality is that most of these people do not have a good way to artfully display their treasures.  Luckily, there is a solution: the curio cabinet.

When it comes to home furniture, one of the most elegant, although not the most expensive, piece is the curio cabinet.  This piece of furniture can very quickly turn a room from understated to elegant.

Curio cabinets come is a wide range of styles and choices.  As an example, three primary types of curios are wall curio cabinets, corner curio cabinets, and glass curio cabinets.  Now that we have identified these three curios, let’s go into further detail about their specific uses.

First, the wall curio is primarily used when a customer wants to display a few items but doesn’t have the required floor space for a normal curio cabinet.  In this instance, a wall curio would be attached to a wall where there is space available.

Next, a person would use a corner curio cabinet if they only had floor space available in a corner.  These cabinets are usually made up of three sides with a mirrored backing.  The addition of this type of cabinet can greatly enhance any bare corner.

Lastly, a glass curio cabinet is the best cabinet to use when you have large objects that you want to display.  Since there is not wood framing blocking the items, you are able to get a better view of the items than you would with the other types of curio cabinets.

As this article has shown, there are three primary types of curios.  Now, you just have to decide which one is right for you.
